Anyone getting bored of wearing Lululemon pants and a workout zip-up as your weekend uniform? I know, the comfort, the ease, the stretchiness! But is it time that we ditch the idea that we can actually pass off workout clothes as everyday clothes. The answer is: kind of. If you are fine with wearing your "yoga" clothes out for coffee, by all means, just do it! If you want to keep the comfort while reclaiming the fashion then read this!
Cropped Leggings + Baseball Cap
I have seen this outfit on Carrie Bradshaw and my favorite style queen Leandra Medine. I actually got a lot of compliments on this outfit for it being a weird combo of an 80's style blazer and regular cropped leggings. I think it is a good combination though if you are looking to test out the pass-leggings-off-as-normal-pants thing. I kept the athletic vibes with an old baseball cap, but added a contrasting element with funky western-isn mules. I told the lady from the consignment store that I had been looking for shoes like these. Which I think she thought was kind of weird because not a lot of people look for shoes like this.
Skort
Do you ever buy something and it spends its life hanging in your closet for a couple of years? Well for me, it is this top. Statement dresses are the easiest outfit to put together in the summer, and to create a "faux dress" look, I flipped the shirt backwards and wore it with a matching white Lululemon skort.
Athletic Socks
I have this pair of short Fila socks that I really wanted to wear with this, but all of my cute socks tend to disappear. Instead, I wore these old school gym socks with some trendy transparent plastic shoes that are actually vintage. To counter the sportiness of the socks, I wore tweed shorts and a cut white button-up over a knotted tee.
Sports Bra
My boyfriend thought this outfit was crazy and didn't believe that I wore it to work. I actually went to a pilates class after so it worked out that I didn't need to bring a top because I already had one on. This outfit formula is a good solution if you have a shapeless dress that you love but never feels right when you put it on. This print madness needed simple accessories: white mule sandals, a beaded bag, and a headband.
