A Week of Outfits in Coffee Shop Bathroom Selfies

If you know Kaity and I, you know that we typically make our daily trek to The Coffee Bar everyday to study either before or after class, depending on the day's schedule. This local business has grown to become a special place in our hearts as one of our favorite coffee shops. The black coffee is the truly the best we have ever had and they can assemble a mean avocado toast. I plan on writing a separate post about my love for this place soon as I will be graduating and won't be able go there everyday anymore.

This week, I decided to capture my daily outfits at my favorite place in Spartanburg. All of my outfits are pretty casual because I wear them to class, in addition to a few styling curveballs thrown my way for dressing this week including:

1. This transitional spring weather: it was cold in the beginning of the week and then blazing hot by Friday. I don't know if anyone else experiences this, but it is hard to train my mind to think about wearing sweaters and then denim cutoffs in the same week.

And

2. A badly sprained ankle forcing me to wear a boot on my left leg until it doesn't hurt to walk normally again.

With no makeup, messy hair, and unflattering lighting here are last week's outfits from the beautiful scene of a coffee shop bathroom because I don't have a full-length mirror in my apartment.

Monday

I hit snooze a couple times this morning before I finally woke up which is why my hair was slicked back into this bun with a scrunchie. I wanted to wear a dress today because I don't have many skinny pants to choose from to tuck in to the good 'ole boot, so I went with a M Missoni sweater dress that I bought on sale at Century 21 during my visit to NYC last year. It was a little cooler today so layering became the major key here. I did what I said I was going to do and layered a graphic tee under a v-neck dress!! I cinched the dress with a grommet belt and topped it off with a reworked XL denim jacket that I need to wear more often. Both thrift store finds.

Tuesday

Yay, yay, yay, some warmer weather! I trimmed my bangs last night, so I made sure they came out to play today. I love this slip dress that I bought from Anthropologie (my mom has a matching one in yellow). But layering is necessary because the lacy top is a tad too suggestive for class. I knotted a vintage floral button-up top over it (and with shoulder pads, I am proud to say). I am low-key so obsessed with this look that I may copy it more this summer. I don't like brushing my hair so I added a white velvet padded headband from Amazon.

Wednesday

My first time in non-legging pants with my boot. These are skinny pants (a rare item in my wardrobe), but the high-waist and pin-stripes convinced me to buy them. I kept it tonal with a corset-inspired top from H&M, but clashed the print with a plaid short-sleeve blazer. More of a casual take on the suit-trend.

Thursday

I'm practicing my tree pose because I am going to do some yoga later boot-free. It was warm again today! I like the South sometimes. I wanted to wear this polka dot dress, but thought the boot would make it frumpy. I also thought I should just wear shorts because well... the boot, but I don't feel comfortable wearing cutoffs to class. I decided to combine the two and layer the button-up dress as a duster to add more coverage to a simple shorts and tank look.

Friday

Headed out to Charleston, SC right after class for a spontaneous weekend trip. This outfit is sporty and casual with my Lululemon skort and baseball hat. To avoid looking like I am headed to an afternoon tennis match at a country club, I wore my denim corset top from Anthropologie. Not too comfy for a car ride, but hey, I will live. I found this perfect men's button-down at Goodwill and I am never taking it off. Also never taking off vintage sunglasses this summer from Giant Vintage, even when my boyfriend says I look like a dork.
