Style Twins: Vintage 90's Dress Edition

Writer's picture: Kasey Kasey

In the spirit of the 4th of July, we styled a classic summer floral sundress in festive red. This vintage find easily translates into today's fashion with its off-the-shoulder silhouette and nod to the 90's (both trends that are hot right now). Take a quick peek at how we both styled this dress a little differently than the average summer look.

Kasey:

This belt is one of the most standout accessories I own, and while it is fringy, the black toughens up the bohemian nature of this floral dress. I laid off on the rest of the accessories, but I think some delicate rings or necklaces would also look cool. I always think of leopard shoes as a neutral, so I had no problem wearing these printed heels with a florals dress. To complete the look, this dress also complements my nice tan lines from running. That's a plus!

Kaity:

I've absolutely fallen in love the corseted dresses in the past few Dior collections, and I've been wanting to somehow recreate the look. I've also seen street style stars and other bloggers like Man Repeller layer bras over their tops. It is weird and unpractical, but also creates a new silhouette. To contrast Kasey's black accessory, I chose to pair the dress with all white accessories, which I think brightens the white flowers on the dress. I also pulled out the trendy Nike wedge sneakers from a couple years back. They might be kind of ugly but they are still cool. Ugly pretty is a thing now, right?
