As twins, we've shared every part of the last 21 years, including a closet. While it is common for sisters to share clothes, the amount of clothes we actually do share is surprising since we have completely different styles and looks. We have never really believed that clothes come with limits or rules. Age, personal style, body type etc. does not determine what you can and can't wear. A clothing piece can easily be transformed through styling, so wearing what makes you feel like yourself is much more important than choosing an article of clothing from a category that your "supposed" to fit.
Here we styled a vintage Chanel jacket that we bought at the flea markets in Paris. It is dated to the late 70's and is in near perfect condition. The tag reads "Chanel Créations"which signifies the era post-Coco Chanel and pre-Karl Lagerfeld. It is normally seen as the "dark period" of the brand as they searched for a new designer, yet given the perfect fit, condition, and price it was impossible to pass up.
My style has always been more feminine so initially I was attracted to the colors of this jacket whereas Kaity usually hates pink. However this time, since both of us fell in love with our first vintage Chanel score we decided to share custody.
For a casual take on the jacket, Kaity paired it with reworked denim shorts and a white hoodie from Marmalade Underground for a sporty look.
To contrast the tailored fit of the jacket, I chose to pair it with a bohemian lacy dress to make it more of a laid back dressed up look.
